Geranium and Rose essential oils share their delicately sweet floral aroma and similar therapeutic benefits. At a fraction of the cost, Geranium is the next best alternative to the very expensive Rose oil.  In fact, Geranium oil is often called the poor man's Rose oil.  But don't let this misguide you.  This unassuming oil packs a powerful punch when it comes to its benefits. With its various beautifying benefits, Geranium essential oil promotes healthy, glowing skin and hair, while providing a sweet, floral aroma.  It also helps calm nerves and lessen feelings of stress. Geranium is also known to naturally repel insects.

The fledgling alchemist in me is loving experimenting with making facial serums.  I won't reveal all my secrets, but Geranium is a must in all my serums.  You can begin by adding a drop of Geranium to whatever facial product you already use, with the aim of eventually weaning off of all chemical ingredients, and incrementally adding other skin beautifying essential oils.  Why allow synthetic chemicals to seep into your skin when it can drink in the elixirs alchemized from plant potency?

Geranium's aroma is not only floral and sweet like the Rose, but additionally herbaceous and green.  Look to the photo above for creating beautiful blends with Geranium.  It's not on the list above, but I love diffusing Geranium with Siberian Fir and Rosemary.
